3 Best Tips to Stay Fit, From a Pro

_DSC0770-INT

I have been in the fitness and wellness industry for a long, long time.

When I first started training, I had just come from being paralyzed for a year, and I would see many people at the gym with disabilities, working out and pushing themselves, so I had a very
“NO EXCUSES” mind-set.

I figured if someone in a wheel chair could get to the gym, then no job, no amount of kids and no other circumstances could stop someone from training.

Well… I was wrong.

What a few years and experience have taught me is that… there ARE excuses.
Some of them are valid and some of them just are… well… excuses.

I have always lived in a metropolitan area where there are gyms abundantly.

You can find a Gold’s Gym, 24hr Fitness, LA Fitness, etc. but…..

Here I am, now, 20 miles from the closest Starbucks and I GET IT!

I get that not everyone can make it to the gym!

I also get that the gym is not meant for everyone.

I want to give you 3 tips that will help you to be able to stick with an exercise program.

1. DO THE THING YOU WILL DO.

–there is no point in running if you won’t run!

I was able to lose 10 lbs by going for walks, working in the yard, going for a bike ride.

You can do push-ups, sit ups, bike, go for hikes/walking, walking luges on your way back from somewhere. JUST DO SOMETHING YOU WILL DO!

If you don’t use it…. You will lose it!

*You need to train to LIVE*

2. TRACK YOUR ACTIVITY, NOT YOUR RESULTS
So many are focused on the end result.

Results come over time with consistency. If you just track your activity, you will be more inspired to keep going. Here are a few ways to track activity:

– Mark your calendar with stickers

– Download an app to track your progress

– Do something to reward yourself, like a new

3. THERE IS NO FINISH LINE

Be patient, there is no end…this is your life.

You need to stay fit for the rest of your life.

Do something you can do for a long time.
